The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation was positioned as the primary system for general ledger and statutory financial processes and was configured to support core financial workflows across the organization.
Configuration concentrated on Financial Accounting FI and Controlling CO capabilities, including general ledger, asset accounting, intercompany accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, and financial reporting configuration. Implementation work emphasized chart of accounts alignment, period end close orchestration, and centralized master data for customers, vendors and fixed assets to enable consistent financial control under the ERP Financial framework.
Operational coverage targeted finance, accounting, treasury and statutory reporting business functions, with transactional processing and month end close flowing through SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Integration patterns were managed through a formal change control regime to coordinate interfaces and persistent financial master data across connected business systems.
Gentherm maintains a change control system for all business systems and ensures the conformance of the SAP system with Global Standards, governing configuration change requests, transport management and access entitlement reviews. The implementation covers standard Core HR functional workflows, including performance management, compensation planning, recruiting, and onboarding. Day to day administration responsibilities documented for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central include system configuration, mass data uploads, ad hoc reporting, and user support and troubleshooting, enabling standardized process execution across HR functions.
Gentherm built a global data governance framework and a data quality program to create a data culture and drive analytics adoption across the HR function. The governance model includes a team of data specialists and direct oversight of regional system and data administrators across North America, Europe, and Asia, with guidelines for collecting and analyzing employee data and producing reports and summaries for senior management to inform workforce planning and hiring forecasts.
Operational coverage extends to the US payroll environment where the HRIS team oversees daily payroll processing, multi state and multi schedule payroll administration, filing of deductions and taxes, recordkeeping, and notifications. Governance activities also include defining HR performance metrics and service level agreements for core programs and processes and tracking delivery against program objectives to maintain accurate employee data across payroll and HRIS systems.

In 2015, Gentherm deployed Infor VISUAL as its Manufacturing ERP to support the Gentherm Medical business and onsite manufacturing operations. The implementation positioned Infor VISUAL as the core manufacturing planning and shop floor system for production scheduling, MRP, bill of materials, inventory control and order management across the Medical site.
Configuration work focused on shop floor control, discrete production routing, MRP planning, BOM management, inventory and procurement workflows, and quality management functionality consistent with regulated manufacturing practices. The deployment established automation for production order release, material allocation and lot traceability to align ERP processes with medical device manufacturing controls.
The onsite ERP team owned the enhancement backlog for Infor VISUAL, CRM and other critical systems, and coordinated with Gentherm Global IT and third party resources for site level operations and end user services management. Operational scope centered on the Medical business, including support for acquisition due diligence and integration activities, and acting as the local point of contact for ERP issues and deployments.
Governance was framed by Application Portfolio Management activities, including application criticality assessments, upgrade and obsolescence planning and retirement initiatives for Medical applications. The implementation delivery model covered end to end project delivery from requirements definition through system delivery and go live, and included software validations delivered per FDA and other regulatory authorities.
