In 2025, GFO-X partnered with ION Investment Group to provision ION XTP Execution as part of a front to back XTP deployment for its regulated, centrally cleared digital asset trading venue. The implementation emphasized Trade Order Management System (TOMS) capabilities to support market access, order routing, trade capture, and connectivity for crypto derivatives from initial launch.
ION XTP Execution was configured alongside XTP Clearing and the ION trade processing platform to deliver end to end order management and post trade workflows. Configuration focused on order management, execution management, trade capture, pre trade controls, allocation and trade enrichment to feed margin processing and clearing pipelines.
The deployment integrated with LCH DigitalAssetClear for clearing, and provided connectivity paths for intermediaries and their end clients to trade GFO-X products alongside other exchange offered crypto derivatives from a single technology platform. The front to back XTP architecture centralized market access, client connectivity, margin processing and trade processing, enabling operational consistency across trading and clearing functions.
GFO-X retained a regulation first governance posture, leveraging its FCA authorization and LCH clearing to embed standardized risk controls and cleared derivatives workflows. The implementation explicitly aimed to ensure that a broad segment of the cleared derivatives industry could access GFO-X’s crypto derivatives from day one, enabling trading and clearing with the reliability, security, and efficiency expected in traditional markets.
