In 2012 Goodstart Early Learning implemented TSG QikKids. TSG QikKids is a Childcare Management application that Goodstart Early Learning used to centralize child and family records and operational workflows for enrolment, attendance, session scheduling, fee management and regulatory compliance.
The implementation included standard Childcare Management capabilities such as child and family profiles, session and room scheduling, automated billing and invoicing, incident and medication tracking, and compliance reporting. Configuration work focused on mapping enrolment and attendance workflows to centre operating practices, and on building SSRS style operational reports and scheduled ETL feeds to support business intelligence requirements.
Operational integrations were established with existing enterprise applications, including the Corporate CRM Application referenced in internal operations, Kronos time and attendance, QuickKids and Peoplesoft for HR and payroll related data synchronization. The implementation used a SQL Server based backend, with database administration spanning SQL Server versions 2000 through 2014, and BI data tools for reporting, ETL and cubes to feed analytics and operational dashboards.
Governance and operations were centered on enterprise database practices, including production environment management, on-call support, maintenance plans, indexing and performance tuning, and database migrations. High availability and disaster recovery architectures were implemented using Log Shipping, Mirroring, Windows Server Failover Clustering and Always On Availability Groups, with virtualization on VMWare VSphere, backup policies managed with CommVault, monitoring with SCOM and change control and patch management processes coordinated with the BI and business analyst teams.
