In 2015 Greenfields Petroleum Corporation implemented IFS IDEAS (formerly P2 IDEAS) as its Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP to support corporate and subsidiary finance functions. The deployment was targeted to support finance, accounting, tax and internal and regulatory financial reporting for the Houston corporate office and subsidiaries operating the company's 80 percent interest in a production sharing agreement with the national oil and gas company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The implementation also encompassed a specific configuration for an Indonesia farm in as part of a post divestiture transition operating agreement with new owners.
Configuration concentrated on core financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, tax routines and statutory reporting, and joint venture and production sharing accounting workflows consistent with Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP capabilities. Work focused on chart of accounts alignment, revenue distribution and cost recovery processing appropriate to production sharing contract structures, and automated financial reporting for internal and regulatory submission. For a company of approximately 20 employees the implementation was scoped to centralize accounting controls and standardize transaction processing across corporate and subsidiary ledgers.
Governance was led by the vice president and controller in Houston who supervised finance and accounting functions and managed the IDEAS rollout for the Indonesia farm in. Rollout execution was integrated into the post divestiture transition operating agreement, establishing finance centric controls and reporting responsibilities between Greenfields and the new operating partners.
