In 2014, GSM Association implemented iconectiv TruNumber, a Caller ID application delivered as a cloud based Software as a Service solution. iconectiv TruNumber provides trusted global numbering databases and managed services to facilitate portability, prevent revenue share fraud and detect interconnection related revenue leakage while delivering deeper insights into call routing data.
The implementation centered on core numbering intelligence capabilities, including a centralized numbering database, portability management workflows, managed number administration and routing data analytics. Configuration emphasized data standardization and synchronization to support number provisioning and portability processes, and incorporated fraud prevention controls aligned with numbering and interconnect workflows.
Operational coverage extended to carrier operations, numbering administration and interconnection functions that require accurate routing and rating information, leveraging iconectiv TruNumber as a managed service for global numbering datasets. The deployment used iconectiv’s cloud based SaaS model to support continuous updates to numbering information and to provide operators and network teams with near real time routing visibility.
Governance and process changes focused on standardizing numbering governance and centralizing numbering intelligence to improve portability handling and interconnect reconciliation. The stated outcomes included prevention of revenue share fraud, mitigation of interconnection related revenue leakage and improved visibility into call routing data.
