| Cognite | Legacy | Cognite InField | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 | In 2019 Hafslund Eco implemented Cognite InField as an Asset Performance Management solution to optimize the turbine start-up sequence at one of its hydroelectric plants. The deployment relied on Industrial DataOps software from Cognite, including Cognite Data Fusion, to ingest and contextualize time series and process data from turbine controls and plant historians, aligning operational telemetry with asset models used during starts. The implementation scope focused on operations and asset management teams responsible for unit availability and start-up procedures at the single plant. Cognite InField was configured to deliver contextualized asset models, time-series alignment, start-up sequencing analytics, and operator guidance tied to control-room workflows. Cognite Data Fusion served as the data integration and contextualization layer while Cognite InField provided in-field workflows and decision support for sequence orchestration, enabling rule-based sequencing logic and condition assessment to reduce manual variability during ramp-up. The configuration emphasized functional capabilities typical of Asset Performance Management such as condition-aware sequencing and operational decision support. Governance changes accompanied the technical implementation, with updated start-up procedures and operator checklists embedded into day-to-day workflows and handed over to operations and maintenance governance. The deployment explicitly targeted avoidance of downtime to prevent revenue loss, with the solution expected to generate significant savings for Hafslund Eco by optimizing turbine start-up sequences and improving plant availability. |
