| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics AX | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Hassell implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment targeted the Australian Group of Companies with primary operational ownership in the Melbourne Group Finance team, aligning the application with studio-level finance functions across the firm’s multi-studio professional services footprint.
Microsoft Dynamics AX was configured to support core financial modules typical for an ERP Financial deployment, including general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable and customer receipts processing, inter-studio recharge invoicing, and cash and working capital reporting. The configuration supported time-related finance workflows relevant to architecture and design project accounting, and was used by finance staff such as Assistant Accountant and Senior Financial Accountant to keep the general ledger and secondary financial systems current.
The Dynamics AX implementation operated alongside secondary financial applications rather than as a single-point solution, with explicit operational coexistence with the company expense claim management system Fraedom and systems used to record and reconcile Group AMEX cards and leasing arrangements such as HP leasing. Operational coverage emphasized regular liaison between the Melbourne Group Finance team and individual studio finance teams to reconcile receipts, maintain intercompany recharge invoicing, and coordinate reporting across the Australian Group.
Governance centered on role-based operational ownership within Group Finance, with the Senior Financial Accountant accountable for GL integrity and the Assistant Accountant performing day-to-day reconciliations and expense management outside the ERP. The rollout emphasized procedural alignment for inter-studio recharge processes and ongoing training and system maintenance activities to sustain accurate financial reporting within Microsoft Dynamics AX and its adjacent financial systems.

In 2017, Hassell implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Recruiting to manage Recruiting workflows and the public candidate experience on its careers channels. Oracle Cloud HCM Recruiting is used as the applicant tracking and candidate experience layer, publishing job requisitions via Oracle candidate experience pages that are linked from Hassell’s website. The deployment focuses on core Recruiting capabilities including requisition creation, candidate application intake, candidate profile management, and requisition lifecycle workflows for hiring teams.
Operational ownership rests with Hassell Talent Acquisition and HR teams for the firm of 2300 employees in Australia, using Oracle Cloud HCM Recruiting to centralize recruitment processes across the organization. Configuration emphasis was placed on career site integration and role based hiring access with governance around requisition approvals and applicant review workflows. Integrations are evident on the corporate careers pages where job listings originate from Oracle candidate experience endpoints, keeping recruiting operations and external job posting synchronized.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Power BI | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Hassell deployed Microsoft Power BI as an Analytics and BI platform to centralize reporting and provide holistic performance and forecasting information across business units. The implementation consolidated data sources and provided a standardized reporting layer consumed by more than 100 Power BI end users including Executive board members, the CEO, and Regional and Market Sector senior management, while a related CRM Dynamics system serviced more than 200 users in Sydney, Australia.
The Microsoft Power BI implementation emphasized data modelling and ETL design, with a core data model defined for secure and efficient data sourcing. Standardised Power BI reports and dashboards were configured to present performance and forecasting across multiple time periods, and SSAS OLAP cubes were supervised as a composite reporting asset alongside Power BI ETL pipelines. Testing and development environments were maintained to support staged report development and performance monitoring.
Integrations included CRM Dynamics and AXs as primary source systems, with SQL Server queries used to capture and populate custom CRM Dynamics fields and database columns. Source system validation rules and scheduled data cleansing procedures were developed to preserve data integrity, and XML code was used for custom CRM Dynamics visualisations. The implementation supported ad hoc SQL based analysis for Business Development, HR, Finance, Marketing, and executive reporting needs.
Governance included liaising with project sponsors and stakeholders to scope functional requirements, producing solution demos for sign off, and formulating technical briefs and solution development critical paths for the IT team. The project supervised testing and deployment activities and established ongoing administration responsibilities for Power BI report ownership and SSAS cube performance. Microsoft Power BI was positioned as the central Analytics and BI tool linking reporting, ETL, OLAP, and CRM sourced data for operational and executive decision support.
