In 2019, HCL America implemented Talview Video Interview for Video Interviewing to streamline initial candidate screening across its U.S. delivery centers. The deployment targeted high application volumes where only three to five percent of resumes qualified, and initial 10 to 15 minute screening calls and scheduling were consuming recruiter bandwidth. HCL configured Talview Video Interview to enable asynchronous video based screening, allowing candidates to record responses to short screening prompts. The implementation formalized candidate recording, evaluator assignment, and a two day review window, enabling evaluators to assess communication skills, candidate interest, basic technical fundamentals, and visa or notice period information without real time scheduling. Operational responsibility was split between the Talent Acquisition Team and the Delivery Team, with the Talent Acquisition Team performing non technical shortlisting for keywords, immigration status, and notice periods, and the Delivery Team conducting video evaluations and handing selected candidates to the Delivery Manager for technical interviews. Governance included assignment of a primary evaluator and a backup evaluator per candidate batch, and division of screening tasks so reviews could be completed asynchronously. The Talview Video Interview implementation processed more than 1,200 candidates in six months and reduced panel time by an explicit 200 hours, improving scheduling flexibility and allowing the recruitment organization to reallocate time previously spent coordinating screening calls. HCL reported improved conversion outcomes and greater ability to distribute screening work across the team using asynchronous video workflows.
