UKG Legacy UKG Pro Workforce Management Absence (ex UKG Dimensions Absence) Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2022 2022
In 2022 Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) deployed UKG Pro Workforce Management Absence (ex UKG Dimensions Absence) as its Absence and Leave Management solution for Northern Region staff. The implementation focused on operationalizing core absence workflows across clinical and administrative teams, aligning employee self service and manager approvals with regional rostering practices. The configuration implemented employee-facing modules to view timecards, apply for leave, and manage individual schedules, and manager-facing capabilities to manage staff schedules and approve requests. The solution surface included absence balances, requests and claims functionality, and links into pay and employee information that staff access via myKiosk. Access and operational touchpoints were integrated into existing staff access paths, not limited to a single desktop client. Staff access options documented include Outlook Web App and Exchange Online for email access alongside the Mahi ē Taea portal for timecard and leave entry, a dedicated UKG mobile entry point using the tenant URL https://northerndhbs.prd.mykronos.com/, Horizon VDI environments, the CME portal for applying and approving continuing medical education requests, Ko Awatea Learn for eLearning, and the Clinical Library. The Northern Region IT Services Portal remains the support and incident logging conduit for provisioning and access issues. Governance and rollout emphasized role-based approvals and user enablement, with pocket guides for employees and managers, CME pocket guides for SMOs and approvers, and eLearning access to support adoption. Manager approval workflows and scheduling controls were instrumented to align absence administration with regional operational policies and IT support processes.
