In 2010, HealthMarkets deployed SAP Concur Expense as its Expense Management platform to centralize travel booking and expense reporting. The implementation used SAP Concur Expense to enable employees to arrange individual and group travel and to submit expense reports through the Concur Expense system, leveraging standard expense reporting workflows, receipt capture, itemized expense lines, and approval routing common to Expense Management solutions. The deployment focused on operationalizing travel and expense processes for corporate travel coordinators, field sales personnel, and finance and accounts payable teams, creating a single system of record for travel bookings and expense submissions. Governance was configured to enforce centralized expense policies and standardized approval workflows, positioning SAP Concur Expense as the primary expense processing and travel orchestration tool within HealthMarkets.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2006 | 2018 |
In 2006, HealthMarkets implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to establish an Analytics and BI capability for operational reporting across its customer care, claims, employee and agent functions. The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) deployment centered on SQL Server based reporting and data layer work, with SQL Server 2005 used for stored procedures and packages while Oracle 10G was retained in parts of the data footprint. This implementation narrative documents reporting and portal integration rather than enterprise replacement details.
The implementation included development and deployment of over 20 reports using SQL Server Reporting Services and the creation of data layer artifacts such as stored procedures and packages in SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10G. Architects and developers produced more than 30 custom JSR 168 portlets that performed significant data storage and manipulation, and the Microsoft BI stack was used to feed and consume structured report outputs and analytic datasets. Typical BI platform workflows were established, with SSRS used for production reporting, SSIS used to orchestrate data movement and transformations, and SSAS positioned to support analytical models and aggregations.
Integrations explicitly implemented during the program included Active Directory integration with OID for employee login synchronization and the import of agent user records from a mainframe flat file into OID for agent authentication. Developers built and maintained web services in .NET, Java and Tibco that supplied portal components and reporting inputs, and they implemented SSO handshake capabilities for a health and wellness portal. Intranet sites for customer care and claims were developed using C# and .NET, and portal content was deployed and tested on pre release versions of the portal product to validate interoperability with the BI outputs.
Governance and rollout work focused on application level content design and operationalization, with teams working directly with business stakeholders to design or modify portal content and intranet applications to meet requirements. The project combined report development, portal portlet deployment and data layer procedures into a coordinated delivery stream, with iterative testing on pre release portal builds and staged publication of SSRS reports to business users. The scope of the implementation was explicitly across customer care and claims departments and included both employee and agent authentication flows tied to the BI and portal ecosystem.

Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) is configured to provide Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Meet capabilities, enabling email, calendaring, document collaboration, and real-time conferencing. Administration is centralized through the Google Admin console for user provisioning, group and role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, and device management to enforce collaboration and security policies.
Operational coverage is enterprise-wide across corporate functions including sales, customer service, human resources, and corporate IT, with the platform surfaced through the company domain and incorporated into employee workflows linked from the HealthMarkets website. Governance emphasizes centralized admin controls and policy-driven access provisioning to manage internal and external sharing and to standardize collaboration practices.
