SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2010 2011
In 2010, Helvetia Group deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the central component of an ERP Financial initiative to gain faster, deeper insight into customers, sales and risk exposure. The implementation was explicitly oriented to support finance, investment accounting and insurance-specific ledgering while improving decision support across the organization. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was implemented alongside SAP Investment Management for Insurance and SAP Reinsurance Management to cover insurance-specific financial workflows, and SAP Customer Relationship Management to centralize customer master and transactional data. SAP Business Warehouse and SAP BusinessObjects were configured as the primary reporting and analytics layer, with SAP Solution Manager used for application lifecycle management and operational oversight. The architecture included an upgraded database and infrastructure stack to accelerate analytic throughput, notably IBM DB2 with BLU Acceleration supporting SAP Business Warehouse, IBM AIX on IBM Power System E870 with PowerVM virtualization, IBM DS8000 storage and IBM Storwize V7000, and strategic operational support from IBM Global Technology Services. Integrations were implemented between SAP ERP ECC 6.0, SAP BW, SAP BusinessObjects and CRM to enable near real-time reporting and consolidated views of customer, sales and risk data. Governance for the rollout centered on Helvetia's SAP Application Management Services team and SAP Solution Manager based processes to manage configuration, batch data loads and query optimization. Explicit outcomes reported from the implementation include data-loading up to 12 times faster, queries running 20 percent quicker, and a further 60 percent reduction in compressed data volumes, yielding faster time-to-insight for finance, risk and sales stakeholders.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2024 2024
In 2024, Helvetia Group deployed SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a group-wide SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite rollout. The deployment aligns with an initiative to consolidate country specific HR tools into a single HR portal to harmonize core HR and talent management processes across Switzerland, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain for a workforce exceeding 12,000 employees. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured alongside SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, recruiting, performance & goals, succession & development, learning, and time tracking to establish end to end talent workflows and compensation planning integrated with performance and succession processes. Employee Central serves as the master HR record and the foundation for compensation data, enabling consistent headcount and position references across the Compensation Management configuration. The technical architecture uses SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integrated with PeopleDoc for HR service delivery and document management, with data exchange implemented via SAP Integration Suite on SAP Business Technology Platform to enable near real time data flows between personnel files and compensation processes. Implementation partners HR Campus and BearingPoint supported the Swiss rollout, and Employee Central was already rolled out in France with plans to extend module coverage across Austria, Italy, and Spain to meet the program goal of all modules live by the end of 2025. Governance was centralized under Helvetia's central HR Operations Team which engaged country HR teams to harmonize processes, standardize compensation workflows, and shape change management for a more consistent employee experience. Reported outcomes include greater transparency, real time insight into employee data, and a lower total cost of ownership as explicit program objectives, and the Compensation Management implementation is positioned to support succession planning and performance linked pay as part of the broader HXM program.

SAP Legacy SAP for Insurance Insurance ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2010 2011
In 2010, Helvetia Group implemented SAP for Insurance, deploying an Insurance ERP to consolidate core policy, finance and customer processes across its Swiss base and broader European operations. The program prioritized faster, deeper insight into customers, sales and risk by accelerating the analytic layer and centralizing insurance transaction processing. The implementation integrated SAP Business Warehouse and SAP BusinessObjects for enterprise reporting and analytics, SAP Customer Relationship Management for sales and policyholder interactions, SAP ERP for financials, SAP Investment Management for Insurance and SAP Reinsurance Management to support asset and reinsurance workflows, with SAP Solution Manager used for application lifecycle and monitoring. SAP for Insurance was configured to surface underwriting, claims and portfolio analytics through the SAP Business Warehouse layer, leveraging columnar acceleration to enable high performance querying and bulk data loads. Central to the deployment architecture was an IBM infrastructure stack, the environment running on IBM AIX and IBM Power System E870 with IBM PowerVM, using IBM DB2 with BLU Acceleration as the analytic database and IBM DS8000 and IBM Storwize V7000 for storage while IBM Global Technology Services provided operational support. Integrations linked SAP Business Warehouse to DB2 with BLU Acceleration and to transactional SAP modules, enabling near real-time loading of policy and sales data for enterprise reporting and covering business functions across BI, underwriting, sales and risk teams. Governance and operational ownership rested with Helvetia’s SAP Application Management Services team, which led the BW database upgrade, reporting standards and rollout sequencing. The upgrade delivered stated performance outcomes, providing up to 12x faster data-loading, 20% quicker queries and a further 60% reduction in already compressed data volumes, accelerating time-to-insight and deepening understanding of customers, risk exposure and sales performance.
