In 2015, Hilti France implemented SAP Concur Expense as its Expense Management solution to dematerialize expense reports and standardize expense handling across the organization. The initial project scope included definition of needs and scope, management and monitoring of implementation tasks, software configuration, and end user testing to validate expense workflows and data capture.
The SAP Concur Expense deployment was configured to support digital expense capture and automated approval routing consistent with Expense Management functional expectations, with configuration work covering expense types, policy enforcement, approval workflows, and task orchestration. Software configuration was followed by testing with end users to verify processing rules, approval paths, and the operational readiness of expense reporting.
Concurrently Hilti France executed an Internal Control System project to strengthen controls for the group and its 120 subsidiaries across the Purchase, Sale, Inventory, Finance & Reporting, Treasury, Human Resources, and IT cycles. The ICS program involved coordination of business experts to draft controls, implementation coordination in five countries France, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Portugal, and end user training to embed control procedures.
Governance emphasis centered on monitoring the proper execution of controls and tracking remediation through correction plans, while integrating task monitoring and training into operational routines. SAP Concur Expense was positioned as the Expense Management layer within this broader control framework, linking expense report dematerialization and approval workflows to the programmatic control and monitoring activities.

In 2019, Hilti France implemented SAP Analytics Cloud to provide Analytics and BI capabilities for its Logistics Finance function. The deployment targeted the Logistics Finance team supporting Warehouse, Transport and Material Management, and was positioned to serve Finance Business Partners and operational managers across Western Europe including France, Belux, Spain and Portugal.
The implementation focused on analytics, reporting and data visualization workflows, delivering supply chain performance dashboards and ad hoc analysis needed for operational decision making. SAP Analytics Cloud was used alongside existing Excel based reporting and SAP BusinessObjects Analysis workflows to centralize KPI reporting, and the project emphasized development of semantic data models, reusable dashboards and self service analysis for business users.
Integrations included source connectivity to Excel spreadsheets and SAP BusinessObjects Analysis artifacts, with data preparation and query work leveraging SQL and PowerQuery skills identified in the operating team. Operational coverage started with French logistics operations and was planned to expand to other subsidiaries, enabling cross‑subsidiary comparability of logistics metrics and consolidated reporting for the Logistics Finance organization.
Governance and rollout were driven by the Logistics Finance team with oversight from the Finance Business Partner, combining business analyst led report development and staged rollout to operations and other subsidiaries. Training and role based access emphasized business user adoption, data literacy and alignment of reporting outputs with logistics decision processes, while technical stewardship remained within the local finance analytics function.
