In 2017 Holley & Menker moved client and matter data, documents, and email into Uptime LexWorkplace, implementing cloud-based Document Management and email management across its U.S. offices. The deployment explicitly covered the firm presence in Atlantic Beach, Florida and Solana Beach, California and focused on supporting the intellectual property practice. This consolidated approach centralized document custody and client matter records in a single cloud repository.
Uptime LexWorkplace was configured to host document and email management capabilities, consolidating client and matter folders while applying access controls, versioning and metadata indexing to organize matters and IP files. Configuration emphasized centralized backups and high availability to ensure always-available access for attorneys and staff. The implementation applied standard Document Management workflows for check-in check-out, permissioned access and organized matter hierarchies to support legal collaboration.
Operational coverage was firm-level for the intellectual property practice across both offices, streamlining collaboration workflows between attorneys and administrative staff and reducing dependence on local file stores. Email stores were brought into the same hosted repository as documents to provide consistent access policies and unified matter-centric information management across sites.
Governance changes included centralized document custody, standardized matter folder structures and firm-level access policies to enforce consistent handling of client records. The project delivered always-available access, stronger backups and simplified collaboration for the firm’s intellectual property practice as described in the deployment notes.
