Oracle Legacy Oracle NetSuite ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2022 2023
In 2022 Home Chef implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP for ERP Financial functions while executing a parallel TMS and logistics project that ran from January 2022 to February 2023. The program targeted high-volume freight and distribution cost accounting as Home Chef manages thousands of trucks, routes, shipments, and line hauls per day, aligning logistics operations with corporate finance processes. The Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment focused on capturing and positioning freight and transportation costs inside the financial system, using automated workflows to convert shipment events into finance transactions. Functional capabilities implemented included freight cost capture, allocation to general ledger accounts, and automated vendor bill creation and routing to accounts payable, with configuration aimed at supporting freight cost visibility and financial reconciliation. Integrations were central to the architecture, with deep integrations between ShipWell and Oracle NetSuite ERP. Home Chef used ShipWell API libraries together with a cloud integration platform at Celigo to ingest TMS events and marketplace bid outcomes, orchestrate shipment tendering, and push validated cost data into NetSuite. The implementation also connected custom e-commerce systems to the integration layer to ensure end to end shipment cost traceability. Governance and rollout emphasized cross functional coordination between logistics, operations, and finance, and introduced a marketplace where shippers can bid for shipments to lower total cost of ownership. The rollout period established new tendering and cost posting workflows, and produced stated outcomes including operational optimizations, labor reduction, and lowered TCO while ensuring costs were seamlessly positioned to the finance team in NetSuite.
