In 2023, Hospitable deployed Intercom Fin ChatBot, implementing a solution in the Chatbots and Conversational AI category to provide 24/7 customer support for its short term rental management platform in the United States. The Intercom Fin ChatBot was positioned as an always on AI agent to reduce inbound backlog and accelerate first response across Hospitable's support channels.
The Intercom Fin ChatBot implementation centered on automated conversational workflows and triage, configured to resolve common queries and escalate complex issues to human agents. Hospitable used the agent to clear a backlog of 500 queries and to resolve approximately 30 percent of inbound queries, while reducing response times by about 95 percent. Functional capabilities emphasized automated resolution, conversational handoff, and persistent session context to minimize repeated customer inputs.
Operationally the deployment was embedded inside Hospitable's Intercom workspace and routed messages through existing support inboxes, concentrating impact on the customer support and operations functions. The scope of the deployment covered Hospitable's United States support footprint and handled real time inbound messaging across the platform, preserving human oversight for escalations and exceptions.
Governance and process changes included defining escalation rules and human agent handoff protocols so that the support team retained control over complex cases while the AI agent handled routine traffic. The implementation allowed Hospitable's support organization to scale without a major headcount increase, with outcomes explicitly reported as backlog elimination, a 30 percent autonomous resolution rate, and a roughly 95 percent reduction in response times following rollout.
