In 2015 Hotel du Vin & Bistro implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR system to centralize employee records and standardize people processes across its estate. The deployment covered 18 hotels in the south region, supporting approximately 1500 team members and extending to the integration of four acquired properties and support for new hotel openings. The implementation was positioned to support all aspects of People Development including Recruitment, Training, Engagement, Retention, Employee Benefits, Employee Relations, Reward & Recognition, communication, and coaching and mentoring. The project narrative identifies the Executive Team, General Managers, and the People and Development Team as primary operational stakeholders.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured as the authoritative personnel data store and was paired with targeted functional configurations for onboarding workflows and recruitment intake. The implementation included configuration of contract and pay templates, benefits management structures and compensation administration, and the platform was used to structure performance management processes and learning interventions aligned to People Development objectives. Onboarding processes were explicitly redesigned as part of a new on boarding project, with the target of reducing turnover and improving retention, and employee movement onto new contracts with changes to benefits and pay was executed through the solution.
Operational rollout focused on property level adoption, with the People and Development team leading integrations of acquired properties and supporting recruitment and on boarding for new openings. Governance and change activities included restructures and a benefits roadshow to communicate policy changes, phased employee conversions to new contracts in line with company policies, and ongoing people support for newly opened hotels. The implementation also supported the introduction of a new benefits and incentive programme and the Your Voice Communication and employee voice initiatives to formalize engagement channels.
Process and capability changes were reinforced through targeted training programs delivered as part of the rollout, including R and S Management Training, Discrimination versus Banter, and Performance Management coaching. The People and Development function led cross functional governance with Executive and property leadership to align HR policy, reward and recognition programs, and onboarding standards.
