In 2015 I Logicon implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial platform to address project centric supply chain, estimation, manufacturing and services scalability needs after SAP Business One fell out of tune with strategic project requirements. The deployment was executed with CETAS Information Technology and targeted the Bangalore based industrial process automation business, covering core finance and project operations for a 150 person professional services firm.
The implementation used Dynamics NAV 2016 extended with the NAVBUILD ISV solution and included NAVBUILD, a Timesheet module, and a Vendor Portal. Functional modules and capabilities configured included Estimation, Project Management, Materials and Resource Management, Manufacturing, Microsoft Project Plan and timesheet integrations, Finance and SCM, and Service modules, with required customizations to support project centric enterprise workflows.
Integrations were focused on linking NAVBUILD to timesheet collection and a vendor portal, and on feed paths between project planning and resource usage captured in timesheets and MPP data. Operational coverage spanned estimation through execution, project billing and after sales services, aligning project managers, operations, procurement and finance on a single platform.
Governance and process changes emphasized automated estimation and bidding workflows, consolidated project billing and real time visibility for project managers. According to project leadership, NAVBUILD with Microsoft Dynamics NAV provided current and reliable data for resource control, billing and proactive decision making, and it streamlined reporting and bid submission processes so orders could be executed on schedule.
