The implementation included configured dashboards and report models to support high level executive views down to granular audience and geographic slices, using Microsoft Power BI for interactive visualizations and scheduled report refreshes. Development work included custom Python programs to create cloud based reporting tools and automated pipelines, plus a unique cloud querying system within Excel to enable automatic refreshing of reports and PowerPoint decks, while scripting was used to manipulate very large files with millions of rows for downstream visualization in Microsoft Power BI.
Microsoft Power BI was used alongside Datorama and common web analytics sources to aggregate multiple data sources, with data feeds from Paid Media platforms, CRM exports, Google AdWords, and Adobe Analytics informing the reports. Datorama functionality for connecting to third party APIs and automating data retrieval complemented Power BI visualizations, creating end to end data flow from source ingestion to dashboard consumption for a portfolio that included high revenue clients spending 30 million plus, such as Directv, Humana, and the NBA.
Operational governance emphasized project management and knowledge transfer, with the team spearheading technical training for new hires, assigning roles, and designating workflows, and serving as an internal liaison to resolve data discrepancies across teams. Business functions impacted included performance analytics, client advisory on KPI optimization such as CTR, CPC, and CPA, and centralized reporting operations using Microsoft Power BI within the Analytics and BI stack.
