Interswitch Group Legacy Quickteller Payment Processing ERP Financial Management n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Ikeja Electric Nigeria added Quickteller as an online payment channel to allow customers to pay energy and non-energy bills via card and mobile channels. The Quickteller implementation used Interswitch Group’s payments platform to extend the utility’s Payment Processing footprint, integrating online and mobile acceptance into the company’s billing and finance workflow across Nigeria. Operationally the deployment configured Quickteller as a customer-facing payment gateway supporting card and mobile money flows, payment capture, and settlement workflows typical of Payment Processing solutions. Transaction status and remittance information were routed into finance and utility billing processes to accelerate account posting, with exception handling and reconciliation processes established between billing, collections, and customer service. Governance centered on billing operations and customer service teams to manage payment validation, dispute handling, and rollout controls for the online channels. The move made bill settlement more convenient through Quickteller’s online and mobile channels and reduced the need for in-person payments at bank branches or service offices.
