In 2019, Indiana University Health implemented Oracle Cloud ERP. The rollout used Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and was executed as part of a broader adoption of Oracle Cloud Applications, targeting ERP Financial functions across the health system.
Configured modules focused on core financials, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, fixed assets and procure-to-pay workflows, aligned to standard ERP Financial capabilities. The configuration emphasized ledger consolidation, harmonization of the chart of accounts and automated financial controls to support period close orchestration.
Oracle Cloud ERP was deployed alongside Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management, Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management, enabling integrated financial planning, procurement and workforce cost accounting workflows. Operational coverage encompassed the Indiana University Health hospital network and affiliated physician groups in the state of Indiana, supporting enterprise finance teams across clinical and administrative entities.
Governance was established through centralized financial controls, common accounting policies and role based security to standardize reporting and enforce compliance across legal entities. Change management and process redesign concentrated on standardizing procure-to-pay and record-to-report workflows and on configuring Oracle Cloud ERP to enforce those enterprise controls.

In 2020 Indiana University Health deployed Sterling Background Check to establish BackGround Screening capability within its Human Resources operations. The deployment was used by HR staff across the 34,000 employee health system to support hiring, onboarding, and candidate screening workflows.
Sterling Background Check was configured to launch I 9s in Sterling, manage candidate screening cases, and produce and maintain daily new hire reports. Functional modules reflected in practical use included I 9 processing, case management for candidate screening, structured candidate tracking workflows, and operational reporting represented by two managed reports and spreadsheets and the EOHS Clearance List.
Operational coverage included HR Shared Services, the Candidate Care Team, the IST Team, the HR Service Center, and regional coordinators, with system activity covering monitoring the careers inbox, completing start date changes, position approvals and costing, scheduling and confirming virtual interviews, and sending Welcome Letter and EOHS instructions. Governance and process responsibilities were centralized around ownership of the EOHS Clearance List, maintenance of regional distribution lists and the daily new hire report, and acting as the primary point of contact during pre onboarding and NTMO meetings.
The Indiana University Health Sterling Background Check BackGround Screening implementation supported remote HR execution during the May 2020 to July 2021 period and was also leveraged for special projects and candidate communications while embedding screening and onboarding controls into day to day HR workflows.

In 2016 Indiana University Health implemented HealthRules Payer from HealthEdge Software as its Core Admin Processing System for its IU Health Plans organization. The implementation targeted plan administration across Enrollment, Billing, Finance, Compliance, Utilization Management, and the Contact Center, establishing HealthRules Payer as the central system for eligibility, enrollment, claims adjudication, and benefits administration.
HealthRules Payer deployments included configuration workstreams for eligibility transactions and remittance processing, specifically a 270/271 implementation and an EOP/835 redesign. The program also encompassed member and provider self-service channels through an Electronic Provider Portal and the Health Trio Portal, and internal configuration ownership for CAPS, with on‑going configuration changes and SME responsibilities assigned to IS business analysts.
Data and application integrations were executed as part of system data integration projects aligned to Enrollment, Billing, Finance, Compliance, Utilization Management, and Contact Center workflows, and the customer service center application was integrated with SalesForce as stated. Testing and delivery used Atlassian JIRA and Azure DevOps, while project collaboration and lifecycle tooling included TFS, WebEx, SharePoint, SmartSheets, and Office 365 to support both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Governance followed an institutional Solution Delivery Life Cycle, with IS business analysts creating process flows, documenting technical business requirements, leading testing efforts, and providing training and ongoing SME support. The implementation notes indicate successful deliveries for the Electronic Provider Portal, the EOP/835 redesign, the 270/271 implementation, and the SalesForce customer service center application, with retained subject matter experts to support future enhancements.
