Epic Systems Legacy Epic ASAP Clinical Trial Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Infirmary Health System implemented Epic ASAP within its Clinical Trial Management footprint, deploying Epic ASAP alongside OpTime, Anesthesia, and EpicCare Inpatient ClinDoc to support acute care workflows across four hospitals. The implementation targeted emergency department and perioperative operations, aligning Epic ASAP configuration with ED manager, trackboard, and care area configurations to standardize clinical intake and patient flow. Configuration and module work centered on navigators, documentation flow sheets, preference lists, barcode scanning, workstation setup, importing discharge instructions, and conversion of documents into SmartForms for emergency department use. The team built and implemented the ED and OR charging system and configured batch jobs and printing setup to support clinical and revenue capture processes. Integrations included device integration for the system wide ancillary devices and connectivity to ancillary systems, instrumenting device interfaces and charge interfaces to span the four hospital sites. Implementation activity encompassed testing and deployment of new ED and care area instances, command center support for merges and new deployment activity, and operational support for changes and new project go live events. Governance and operationalization were formalized through regular communication with Epic installation teams and a programmer analyst function that translated clinical and business workflows into Epic configuration, provided testing and implementation of application subsystems, and operated as the bridge between end users and vendor implementation staff to drive adherence to department standards.

Epic Systems Legacy Epic Reporting Workbench Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Infirmary Health System implemented Epic Reporting Workbench as a core Analytics and BI component to support clinical reporting across its hospital network. The deployment targeted reporting and operational visibility for perioperative, anesthesia, inpatient, cath lab, endoscopy, emergency department and interventional radiology workflows across multiple facilities. The implementation included configuration and build of Epic Reporting Workbench alongside complementary clinical constructs such as navigators, flowsheets, charge capture, Clindoc inpatient build, and BPAM Blood Product Administration Module for transfusion workflows. CPOE related items including medication reconciliation navigators, order and order set edits, sedation and ED narrators, and profile and user role builds were part of the configuration scope, with security templates and security class edits applied where workflow required. Device integration work for anesthesia and Spacelab devices was implemented to feed perioperative and inpatient documentation flows, and the Reporting Workbench was used to surface clinical and operational data for those integrated device workflows. The implementation explicitly covered multiple facilities and departments, providing a unified reporting layer across perioperative areas, cath and endo labs, emergency departments and interventional radiology. Governance and rollout were managed by a Clinical Analyst RN Team Lead model responsible for workflow analysis, build, training, integrated testing and on-call support for all Epic clinical applications. System-wide Epic upgrades were executed in later waves, with documented builds for the 2015 and 2018 upgrades that encompassed the Reporting Workbench and associated clinical builds across the health system.
