| Xtralis, part of Honeywell | Legacy | VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection | Fire Alarm and Life Safety System | Physical Security | n/a | 2011 | 2011 | In 2011 Infoedge India implemented VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection as part of its Fire Alarm and Life Safety System, engaging Xtralis part of Honeywell as the vendor. The deployment was positioned to provide early warning aspirating detection across the corporate estate and to centralize smoke monitoring within the facilities and data center footprint. The VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection implementation used distributed air-sampling pipe networks and centralized VESDA detection units to provide continuous particulate monitoring, multi-level alarm thresholds, and built-in fault diagnostics. Configuration work emphasized sampling point placement, alarm level tuning for false alarm reduction, and integration of detector health monitoring and event logging to a local monitoring console. Operational coverage extended across Infoedge India facility operations, covering 12 facilities with a collective area of 3+ L sq. ft. and serving 3500+ employees, including protected zones in data centers where VESDA complemented other suppression systems. The deployment targeted business functions in Facilities and Administration, Safety and Security, and data center operations, aligning detection architecture with room layout, HVAC pathways, and critical equipment zones. Governance and rollout leveraged existing facilities project management practices, including collation of requirements, BOQ preparation, tendering, vendor selection, contracting, and scheduling as part of broader site fit outs and retrofits. Ongoing operational controls were formalized through preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, asset management records, and contract KPI clauses to ensure sustained uptime of the Fire Alarm and Life Safety System. |
