In 2015, ING Australia implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as its ERP Financial platform for ING Direct, establishing the application as the primary system for transactional finance and financial recordkeeping. The deployment targeted finance, procurement, and human resources users and positioned Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to support cross-functional financial and procurement workflows across the organization.
Operational ownership was structured with a Finance Systems Analyst for PeopleSoft reporting to the Manager of Finance Operations, providing first line functional support to all PeopleSoft users. That role partners closely with the finance team to manage functional configuration, incident triage, user support workflows, and business process alignment across finance, procurement, and HR modules.
The implementation included close interaction with ING's Global team in Amsterdam for advanced support, and the PeopleSoft deployment was coordinated as part of a broader global transformation program where additional systems will be implemented. Governance emphasized centralized first line support with defined escalation to global teams, coordinated rollout activities tied to the global program, and integration of local support processes into the global support model.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, ING Australia implemented Workday HCM to establish a global Human Resource Information System while leading a local HR Transformation Project that positioned the country as the first ING market to drive the rollout. The implementation targeted Core HR capabilities to centralize HR recordkeeping and standardize people processes across retail and contact centre operations, supporting a retail workforce of approximately 700 and a contact centre population of about 350.
The deployment configured Workday HCM Core HR functionality to support employee master data, organizational management, recruiting workflows, and case management for grievance and investigation handling. Configuration work included designing recruitment and first level HR query processes, embedding policy controls into the HRIS, and adapting workforce-related parameters to accommodate changes in operating hours and a shift from a generalist to a specialist contact centre structure.
Operational integration focused on offshoring HR services to a third party provider while retaining local policy, process and HR business partner capabilities within ING Australia. The program bound Workday HCM to outsourced service delivery by codifying recruitment, policy interpretation, and initial HR inquiries into system workflows, and it involved close collaboration with retail leadership teams and HR Business Partners across product, digital, wealth and customer intelligence functions during early agile waves.
Governance and rollout emphasized local process design, manager capability building, and policy adoption rather than platform replacement messaging. ING Australia implemented employment relations training to reduce manager dependence on HR, embedded a new flexing policy into retail and contact centre environments, and managed end to end case management processes through Workday HCM as part of the broader HR operating model changes.
