| Microsoft | MYOB AccountRight | Microsoft Dynamics GP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | CAL Business Solutions | 2013 | 2014 | In 2013, Innovative Medical Products implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial solution, replacing MYOB AccountRight to support growing manufacturing and distribution transaction volumes. The initiative was driven by a requirement for a Microsoft SQL Server based system with stronger financial and distribution controls, and the deployment was led by CAL Business Solutions as the implementation partner. The implementation centered on Microsoft Dynamics GP core accounting and distribution modules, augmented with SalesPad for order management and the SalesPad DataCollection module for warehouse operations. Configurations included tailored order workflows for evaluations, repairs, loans, and product sales, and handheld barcode scanning for pick operations to enforce error control and inventory accuracy. The technical architecture used Microsoft SQL Server as the database platform and SQL Server Reporting Services for an online commission portal, enabling 35 outside sales representatives to view commission calculations in real time. Operational integrations explicitly implemented include SalesPad integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP, DataCollection barcode scanning tied to picking processes, and electronic ACH payment flow for commission disbursements, providing a unified transaction and reporting pipeline across customer service, warehouse, sales, operations, and finance. Governance and process changes included role specific screens and workflows in SalesPad to streamline order entry and customer service interactions, plus centralized reporting via SSRS to reduce manual distribution of commission materials. The project delivered explicit operational outcomes reported by the company, including a 150% increase in order processing capacity without additional head count, an increase in order accuracy to 98.5 percent through barcode driven picking, and a monthly savings of three days and 500 sheets of paper from the SSRS based sales portal, while maintaining a lean manufacturing capability that avoids unnecessarily complex manufacturing modules. |
