The implementation centered on Oracle E-Business Suite modules covering OPM Recipe Management, Product Development, Process Execution, OPM Financials, Inventory, and core finance modules including Oracle Financials and Purchasing iProcurement. Functional configuration work included mapping and configuring SLA in OPM Financials for inventory transactions flowing between Purchasing, Inventory, and OPM modules, and designing the unique configuration to manage clinical product alongside FDA approved commercial product within a single inventory and costing structure. A functional design was defined to interface a third party 3PL shipping distribution application so inventory and shipping transactions could be processed through OPM Inventory and OPM Financials and posted to the general ledger. The project delivered operational coverage for manufacturing and commercial release processes with a documented rollout of commercial product in North America and Europe, and the Functional OPM lead coordinated module-level setup for formulas, routings, outside processes, and operations in the manufacturing suite. Governance and operational readiness activities included end-user training with documented procedures, creation of functional design specifications using SQL tables and queries for client specific reporting, and definition of custom responsibilities, menus, and request groups to meet Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements. All Oracle configurations and process artifacts were documented using the Oracle Unified Methodology, and the Functional Project Lead retained responsibility for the OPM module configurations and training materials during the August to October 2021 upgrade and business process improvement effort.
