In 2016 INVAP implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to formalize asset, maintenance and inventory processes across its Argentina manufacturing operations. The deployment used IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6 and included the Maximo Asset Configuration Manager 7.6 module, establishing a managed application and database footprint for core plant and equipment lifecycle workflows.
The implementation configured standard Enterprise Asset Management functional modules, including Assets and Locations, Meters, Inventory and Tools, Purchases and receipts, Work Orders, Service Requests, Work Plans and Preventive Maintenance, KPI tracking, reports, and user and security groups. Configuration work also covered communication templates, escalations, scripts and conditional expressions to enforce automated notifications and operational rules.
System administration and database responsibilities were run on DB2, with explicit administration tasks for DB2 complexity, integrity checks and performance tuning. Integrations implemented as part of the solution included web service based integrations and an Email Listener to support inbound service requests and outbound communications, aligning IBM Maximo with transactional and event feeds used by maintenance and operations teams.
Governance and rollout included structured functional analysis and user requirements surveys, production of functional and operational documentation, preparation of budgets and contract specifications, and classroom style training for users. The implementation emphasized formalized workflows and documentation to support operational adoption, ongoing administration and controlled configuration change management.
