In 2018, IOI Properties Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the group ERP Financial platform, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The deployment was paired with an Electronic Plantation Monitoring System ePMS using handheld devices across its oil palm plantations to capture field operations and support plantation specific workflows.
The rollout was executed in staged waves to consolidate diverse stand alone systems into a single ONE IOI Integrated Platform, covering 107 business units across 170,000 hectares and more than 1,200 users, many operating from remote locations with unstable internet connectivity. SAP S/4 HANA was provisioned on the SAP HANA in memory database to provide integrated corporate information and real time analytics across corporate and plantation operations.
Functional scope emphasized core ERP Financial capabilities together with operational and field monitoring integration, bringing ePMS field data into corporate reporting and finance processes. SAP S/4 HANA was configured to address plantation industry specific requirements and to streamline procurement, production tracking, and consolidated financial close workflows while enabling analytics for operational decision making.
Governance centered on group wide standardization and staged adoption to manage connectivity constraints and user onboarding, transforming multiple stand alone systems into the ONE IOI Integrated Platform. As implemented, SAP S/4 HANA fully integrated corporate information for real time decision making and analytics, and IOI reported more streamlined operations and further optimised processes.

| Zoho Corp. | Legacy | Zoho SalesIQ | Chatbots and Conversational AI | AI-Powered Application | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, IOI Properties Group integrated Zoho SalesIQ as part of a broader Zoho Creator and Zoho Business Suite implementation to support customer engagement and post-sales workflows. Zoho SalesIQ, a Chatbots and Conversational AI solution, was used to enhance buyer communication channels within IOI Support and to link conversational engagement to back‑end case handling.
The core implementation centered on two Creator applications, IOI E-marketplace and IOI Support, with Zoho SalesIQ used to surface real-time chat and automated conversational routing for post-sales tickets. IOI Support was configured with modules to receive complaints, register concerns, capture feedback, and track ticket progress, while Zoho SalesIQ provided chat-driven touchpoints that fed ticket records and customer context into those workflows.
Architecturally the deployment was cloud-first and low-code, with Creator applications integrated to the Zoho Business Suite and connected to IOI Properties existing legacy systems for transactional inputs and synchronization. The project reached over 400 users within a year and the initial solution set was deployed in less than three months, providing remote-accessible conversational channels tied to Zoho CRM and the company’s ticketing processes.
Governance and operational change emphasized legal compliance and reduced paper handling, with IOI adopting a zero paper policy for many processes and using automated workflows to update field staff in real time. Reported outcomes from the implementation included improved operational efficiency and explicit mention of a 50% increase in operational efficiency, while the integrated use of Zoho SalesIQ supported continuity of customer engagement during remote work conditions.
