In 2016, J D Williams implemented Oracle Cloud ERP. The deployment focused on core ERP Financial functions across the retailer's finance organization in the United Kingdom, primarily targeting accounts payable, procurement and commercial finance processes and aligning day to day operations with Oracle Cloud Financials capabilities.
Configuration work concentrated on accounts payable workflows including three way matching, invoice processing to meet payment terms, purchase order creation and requisition approval flows, supplier and customer master setup and BACS payment execution. Operational tooling included worklist management for AP teams and structured training for Goods Not For Resale ledger handling, reflecting process orchestration and user role configuration within Oracle Cloud ERP.
Reporting and analytics workflows consumed transactional and sales data from a Teradata database to produce royalty reports, weekly sales consolidations, balance sheet and profit and loss reporting used by Commercial Finance. Expense processing moved from a Global Expense system to Concur while transactional posting and reconciliations were performed in Oracle Fusion Financials and the Sun System in parallel during transition periods, with staff requesting supplier and customer setups and raising requisitions directly in Oracle Fusion Financials.
Governance and rollout emphasized hands on training, worklist ownership and business user enablement for purchase order management and supplier interactions, with Accounts Payable staff training new colleagues and organizing PO creation processes. The implementation positioned J D Williams Oracle Cloud ERP to support ERP Financial business functions including Accounts Payable, Procurement, Commercial Finance and payment operations through configured matching rules, master data controls and established requisition to invoice workflows.
