In 2018, James City County's Parks & Recreation implemented Xplor Recreation with Xplor Pay to modernize online registrations and payment collection for community services in eastern Virginia. Xplor Pay was deployed as the county's Payment Processing solution embedded in the recreation registration workflow, aligning registration checkout and payments under a single vendor application.
The implementation configured online registration checkout, card present terminals at facility locations, and payment-level reporting that surfaces transactions down to specific terminals. Xplor Pay provided payment gateway functionality, transaction settlement and reconciliation capability, and mechanisms to manage convenience and credit card fee handling within the customer checkout experience.
Integration between Xplor Recreation and Xplor Pay unified registrant records with transaction data so Parks & Recreation staff could trace payments to program signups and physical terminals. Operational coverage focused on James City County Parks & Recreation programs and site locations in eastern Virginia, delivering terminal level visibility across the department.
The county went live in 2018 and reported streamlined payments, improved payment-level reporting to specific terminals, and reduced friction around convenience and credit card fees.
