In 2020, Joyson Safety Systems implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial system. NTT Data served as the system integrator for the SAP S/4 HANA deployment, which was scoped to establish a common transactional backbone supporting global purchasing and finance under the One Joyson operating model.
SAP S/4 HANA was configured to centralize procurement master data, supplier master records, and supplier risk management processes, with emphasis on standardized purchasing workflows and harmonized data structures. The SAP S/4 HANA configuration supported Procurement and Supplier Risk Management process ownership, enabling consistent procure to pay controls and supplier governance across regions.
The implementation included integration with JAGGAER via a standard native interface to synchronize supplier data, enable RFQ orchestration, and streamline purchase order creation between JAGGAER and SAP S/4 HANA. The architecture also incorporated supplier risk inputs from riskmethods to inform supplier assessments and procurement decisioning as managed by the Global Purchasing Excellence team.
Rollout followed a phased Agile approach, beginning supplier onboarding and key user training in 2020, and provisioning access for roughly 400 purchasers and supplier quality managers across direct and indirect materials. Governance established a named Process Owner for SAP S/4 HANA in Procurement and Supplier Risk Management, formalized standard processes, and created project controls to improve data quality and transparency at global and regional levels.
Documented outcomes from the program included standardization of global purchasing through a uniform IT system, tighter integration between SAP S/4 HANA and JAGGAER to standardize processes, and improved usability that supports a shift from routine transactional work toward more strategic sourcing activities.
