In 2022, genU implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition as its ERP Financial platform. The roll out was led by the Group Financial Controller who served as solution owner and also led finance due diligence for multiple M&A projects, steering the finance stream for transition across the organization.
The implementation focused on core finance capabilities typical of an ERP Financial deployment, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, cash management, financial consolidation, and planning and forecasting. Configuration emphasis targeted consolidated financial reporting and automated period end processes to align budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting workflows.
The deployment used SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition as a cloud SaaS architecture, establishing a centralized finance data model to support consolidation across newly acquired entities and internal business units. Operational coverage centered on the corporate finance function, with the solution owner coordinating executive reporting requirements and governance inputs from corporate governance and consolidation stakeholders.
Governance and process changes were formalized through a finance solution ownership model, with the Group Financial Controller maintaining custody of configuration decisions, reporting templates, and transition playbooks for M&A finance streams. The project is recorded as a successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition for genU, with the application now serving as the organization’s primary ERP Financial system.

In 2022, genU implemented WorkForce Absence and Leave to consolidate absence and rostering workflows within its HR and workforce management stack. The deployment of WorkForce Absence and Leave targeted Absence and Leave Management and was executed alongside a broader program that included SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, EC Payroll, Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning Management System and Performance & Goal Management, plus Workforce Software Time & Attendance, Advanced Scheduler and Rostering modules.
WorkForce Absence and Leave was configured to support core absence tracking, entitlement calculation, leave request and approval workflows, and linkages to rostering and scheduling processes, aligning with typical Absence and Leave Management capabilities. The implementation emphasized module-level configuration across Time & Attendance, Advanced Scheduler and Rostering, and maintained the full application name WorkForce Absence and Leave in operational documentation and training materials.
Integrations were executed between WorkForce Absence and Leave, Workforce Software Time & Attendance, Advanced Scheduler and Rostering, and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and EC Payroll to ensure leave events reconciled with payroll and employee master data. Operational coverage targeted HR, payroll and rostering teams, with configuration and business analysis activity coordinated from Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
Program governance included the design and rollout of a Project Management Framework, a Project Resourcing Model and a PMO intranet site with project management tools and templates to standardize delivery and sustainment. A Lead Business Analyst role managed requirements and configuration handoffs, embedding Absence and Leave Management processes into existing HR and payroll workflows.
