In 2016, Keolis Hyderabad MRTS deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation served as the core ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and procurement controls across the Hyderabad Mass Rapid Transit System.
Deployment scope included operational support for three elevated MRTS lines covering 72 Kms with 66 stations and three maintenance depots. The underlying IT environment cited in program materials comprised a data center footprint of approximately 400 rack servers and about 2000 end devices distributed across 70 locations, which shaped the infrastructure and connectivity requirements for the ERP rollout.
Configuration work concentrated on ERP Financial functional areas such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, procurement to pay integration, and financial reporting and consolidation workflows. The implementation emphasized financial master data governance, chart of accounts alignment for project and revenue tracking, and automated transaction posting to support O&M billing and revenue stage accounting.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was deployed alongside other enterprise systems including Maximo 7.5 for asset management, enabling integration points for work order cost capture and asset depreciation postings. The program targeted finance, procurement, operations, maintenance and revenue functions to ensure transactional flow from field maintenance through financial close. Governance was led by the internal IT organization which established yearly capex and opex forecasting and implemented IT security controls in line with compliance with ISO 270001/2, while directing rollout sequencing for O&M applications and mentoring analyst teams to operate and maintain SAP ERP ECC 6.0.

In 2020, Keolis Hyderabad MRTS implemented IBM Maximo to provision Enterprise Asset Management capabilities supporting maintenance and asset lifecycle management across its Hyderabad metro rail operations. The deployment targeted operational and maintenance teams at the transit operator and was sized for an organization of approximately 2500 employees, focusing on centralized asset control and field execution workflows.
The IBM Maximo implementation configured core Enterprise Asset Management modules including an asset registry and hierarchical asset model for rolling stock and station equipment, work order management and scheduling, preventive maintenance plans, spare parts inventory and procurement touchpoints, inspection and condition recording, and mobile technician access for field execution. IBM Maximo was used to standardize functional workflows for asset commissioning, maintenance execution, and maintenance history capture to support engineering and operations functions.
Architecturally the solution was organized around a central IBM Maximo instance with role based access controls and a field mobile client to enable technicians and supervisors to interact with work orders and inventory in real time. Data model and configuration emphasized an authoritative asset master, work order lifecycle, and inventory ledger to align maintenance planning with day to day operations across stations and depot sites.
Governance and rollout were driven by a business analyst and solution architect with significant IBM Maximo experience and overall asset management domain experience of five years, who was a qualified engineering graduate. That role led requirements capture, solution design, configuration, user acceptance testing, knowledge transfer and establishment of operating procedures across maintenance, engineering, inventory and operations teams to sustain the Enterprise Asset Management program.
