In 2016 Kimia Farma implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial platform. The engagement was executed as a greenfield SAP S/4 HANA implementation replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and focused on consolidating core financial processes and enterprise resource planning capabilities.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment centered on ERP Financial functionality, with configuration and development work to support core financial management including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and period-end processing. Custom ABAP development was used to extend standard S/4 HANA behavior, with bespoke programs delivered across various modules to meet Kimia Farma business rules and reporting requirements.
Integration work included development of interface programs to connect S/4 HANA to legacy systems, enabling transactional and master data movement between the new ERP and existing enterprise applications. The implementation architecture emphasized ABAP-based interfaces and custom programs as the primary integration mechanism to preserve upstream and downstream system interoperability.
Governance and delivery included on-site technical resources, with a Senior ABAP Consultant assigned during February 2017 to June 2017 responsible for developing custom SAP programs in various modules and for building interface programs to connect legacy systems. Kimia Farma SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial deployment therefore combined standard S/4 HANA module configuration with targeted custom development and interface engineering to operationalize finance and cross-functional ERP processes.
