In 2015, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines implemented AFAS Finance as its ERP Financial system for General Ledger functions. The implementation concentrated on building the interface between Infor EAM and the KES Finance system AFAS so that operational transactions from maintenance and procurement systems posted accurately into AFAS Finance.
Infor EAM continued to support equipment, work, inventory, purchase, invoice matching and contract management functions of the business, while AFAS Finance centralized General Ledger posting and ledger control. AFAS Finance was configured to receive supplier invoice posts, journal entries and ledger postings mapped to a corporate chart of accounts, with configuration work focused on translating Infor EAM transactional records into AFAS ledger codes and posting routines.
The project established an integration layer to exchange transactional records between Infor EAM and the KES Finance system AFAS, carrying inventory movements, purchase order receipts, invoice matching outcomes and contract-related charges into the General Ledger. Integration scope explicitly covered finance, maintenance, procurement and contract management data flows, aligning equipment and work order financial impacts with AFAS Finance ledger entries and preserving traceability between operational records and accounting postings.
Governance emphasized joint process ownership between finance and operations, enforcing mapped posting rules and invoice matching workflows that determine when Infor EAM records become AFAS Finance journal entries. Change control on mapping and posting logic was instituted to maintain consistency between operational workflows and ERP Financial accounting procedures.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2022 | 2023 |
In 2022, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR cloud solution. The deployment is part of an SAP-centered HR estate that includes SAP HCM and an SAP on-premise payroll platform managed in partnership with Alight, with payroll processing centralized in Amsterdam for about 28,500 ground and flight employees.
The implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central focused on Core HR capabilities, including employee self-service for personal data maintenance and a cloud based digital HR model that complements on-premise payroll controls. Configuration emphasis was placed on rapid adjustability to accommodate complex grade and pay scale rules, frequent salary and reward adjustments, and ad hoc agreements that are common across the organization.
Integrations intentionally link SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to the existing SAP HCM and on-premise payroll operations, preserving central payroll runs while enabling cloud based HR transactions and user self service. Operational coverage spans payroll, HR operations, and employee services, and the program embedded Alight specialists into the KLM payroll team to run payroll operations and perform impact analyses prior to union negotiations.
Governance and workflow changes included agile ways of working between KLM and Alight, formalized impact analysis processes to model pay and benefits proposals before union consultations, and configuration governance to ensure payroll compliance after bargaining outcomes. KLM also introduced complementary innovations such as chatbot technology to improve employee experience, and Alight continues to provide ongoing payroll support and specialist capacity as the company evolves its HR landscape.

| IFS | Legacy | IFS Maintenix | Aviation MRO | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines implemented IFS Maintenix, deploying the IFS Maintenix application from IFS to manage airline maintenance operations. The deployment established IFS Maintenix as KLM's core Aviation MRO platform for technical operations and maintenance control.
Configuration emphasized standard Aviation MRO functional modules, including maintenance planning and scheduling, work package and task card management, technical records and traceability, component lifecycle and inventory control, and engineering change management. The IFS Maintenix application was configured to support maintenance event scheduling by flight hours and cycles, to generate and track work orders, and to maintain airworthiness documentation as the authoritative technical record.
Operational coverage extended across KLM's maintenance, engineering, and inventory teams, aligning line maintenance and base maintenance workflows to a single system of record. Governance was centralized around technical records and configuration management within IFS Maintenix, standardizing maintenance workflows and establishing application-level controls over maintenance documentation and configuration status.
