In 2017, Knowlarity Communications implemented SAP Business One as its ERP Financial application, replacing Odoo Open Source ERP to centralize finance and statutory accounting across five legal entities. The implementation was led by the Financial Controller between May 2017 and January 2018 and targeted monthly financial closure and MIS reporting for a finance organization of eight FTEs.
SAP Business One was configured to support core financial accounting workflows, accounts payable and receivable processes, monthly close automation, and GST-specific tax compliance. The deployment emphasized statutory compliance configuration for local taxes and GST, and it captured controls and bookkeeping required for FDI filings and Capex versus Opex tracking.
Operational coverage included pan India operations and outside India entities, with the application used by finance, legal, and audit stakeholders to standardize reporting and monthly close cadence. SAP Business One provided a single financial record for vendor and customer transaction review and for coordination of working capital activities managed with banks and NBFCs.
Governance changes accompanied the technical rollout, with the Financial Controller instituting SOPs for internal controls and enterprise risk management, and owning the rollout, vendor negotiations, and audit coordination. The program also embedded processes for supporting Big Four audit cycles and for ongoing statutory compliance management.
The SAP Business One implementation and GST localization supported smoother audit completion and centralized statutory accounting responsibilities including GST and FDI related filings, while also creating a standardized monthly financial close and MIS reporting framework across entities.

In 2018 Knowlarity Communications implemented Amara hireXP ATS as an Applicant Tracking System to centralize Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding activities. The deployment supported a PAN India Talent Management function led by five full time recruiters, aligning the Amara hireXP ATS with recruitment marketing practices rather than transactional hiring workflows.
The Amara hireXP ATS implementation focused on standard applicant tracking capabilities, including candidate sourcing and pipeline management, interview scheduling automation, and structured onboarding handoffs. The team reconfigured hiring workflows to shift from recruitment selling to recruitment marketing, and implemented a recognition and rewards framework alongside candidate-facing employer brand content to improve applicant quality and volume.
Operationally the Amara hireXP ATS was managed in tandem with HRMS work on People Strong, with projects scoped to link ATS hiring outputs to onboarding and HR records as part of the broader HR systems program that migrated HRMS from Flexiele to People Strong. The rollout encompassed end to end hiring for special programs, including a women returnees hiring initiative run with Sheroes, indicating cross-functional coordination between TA, HR operations, and external program partners.
Governance changes included revised TA processes, formalized recruitment-marketing workflows, and expanded talent engagement practices such as pulse checks, skip-levels, and health and wellness programming to support retention and employer brand goals. The implementation and process shift were credited with a drastic improvement in the quality and quantity of applicants and supported a larger objective of positioning Knowlarity Communications as a more loved employer.
