| Harness | Legacy | Drone | Apps Development | PaaS | n/a | 2021 | 2021 | In 2021, Lavasoft implemented Drone as its CI component together with Harness CD to modernize CI/CD pipelines in a Canada based Apps Development initiative. The program targeted developer verification workflows and Kubernetes migration paths inside the engineering organization to reduce manual verification toil and increase deployment visibility. The deployment used Drone for CI orchestration and Harness CD for continuous delivery, creating an end to end CI/CD toolchain. Functional capabilities implemented included automated build and test pipelines, verification automation, artifact promotion, and deployment orchestration into Kubernetes clusters, with configuration focused on pipeline templates and consistent verification gates. Operational scope covered engineering teams responsible for application onboarding and Kubernetes migration, with rollout executed across the company engineering environment in Canada. Workflows were restructured to centralize verification steps and align Drone CI triggers with Harness CD deployment gates, providing traceable pipeline runs and artifact handoff between CI and CD. Outcomes reported by Lavasoft included a reduction in developer verification time by approximately 94 percent and faster onboarding of applications, alongside improved Kubernetes migration times and greater deployment visibility. The combined use of Drone and Harness CD demonstrates an Apps Development approach that couples CI orchestration with CD automation to streamline developer workflows. | |
