| Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, LAZ Parking engaged GraVoc to reassess a stalled Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 implementation and move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. LAZ Parking had originally started a heavily customized Dynamics NAV 2016 project to replace Epicor, but after three years progress was limited and NAV 2016 was scheduled to lose mainstream support from Microsoft, prompting the re-evaluation and re-platform decision.
The implementation targeted Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as an ERP Financial solution, with work concentrated on core financial management capabilities typical for the category. Implementation activities focused on configuring general ledger structures, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, cash management processes, fixed asset tracking, and financial reporting and consolidation within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
The engagement included a technical review of the existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 customizations, followed by a plan to port or redesign critical business logic into Business Central’s extensibility model and modern deployment architecture. Operational coverage was scoped to finance and accounting functions across LAZ Parking, aligning chart of accounts, transaction processing, and month end procedures to the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation.
Governance and delivery controls introduced by GraVoc included re-scoping requirements, phased configuration and testing cycles, user acceptance testing, and knowledge transfer to LAZ Parking finance teams. The move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was driven by the end of mainstream support for NAV 2016 and the need to consolidate finance operations on a scalable ERP Financial platform from Microsoft.
