Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP n/a 2007 2008
In 2007, Lee County Electric Cooperative implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as part of an ERP Financial initiative, executing a multiworkstream program to modernize core finance processing and reporting. The program targeted the finance organization and its upstream and downstream reporting feeds to centralize financial planning and operational accounting flows. The technical scope included an upgrade of Oracle E-Business Suite from 11i to R12, with detailed design of new financial processes and development of custom code to align configurations and accounting engines to R12 structures. Parallel implementations included Oracle Hyperion 11.X for financial planning and workplan capabilities and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11g for consolidated reporting and dashboarding. Integration architecture work deployed SOA 1.1.1.5 as the integration layer and redesigned how interfaces operate to support R12 data models and process changes. The interface redesign focused on service oriented orchestration, message transformation, and centralized interface control to reduce point to point coupling between financial modules and external feeders. Program governance covered end to end delivery activities, including technical upgrade execution, requirements gathering and acceptance, conference room pilot CRP cycles, user acceptance testing UAT, and production deployment. The engagement also included SharePoint administration for the Financial project on SharePoint 2007 and management of the SharePoint upgrade to SharePoint 2010 to provide collaboration, document management, and acceptance artifacts for the rollout. Operational scope encompassed finance department workflows, financial planning and reporting, and the enterprise reporting stack, with discrete workstreams organized around application upgrade, BI implementation, integration redesign, and project collaboration governance. Responsibilities combined technical upgrade leadership, requirements and testing governance, and configuration and custom code oversight for Oracle E-Business Suite within the ERP Financial context.
