Configuration emphasized integration with mobile work assignment and GPS navigation so field technicians could receive and update work orders, reconcile inventory, and capture customer and spatial data in real time.
The implementation leveraged an API and ESB MQ interface pattern to standardize data sharing across vendor products, and governance used CA API Manager to provide reusable REST and SOAP service endpoints. Integrations referenced in the program included existing enterprise systems managed by the Work and Asset Management team, such as Oracle operations and financial interfaces, IBM Maximo, CGI ARM, ABB Service Suite, and GIS systems, with services exposed for mobile applications and backend orchestration.
Operational governance blended Agile, DevSecOps, and continuous integration delivery practices to sustain the Hitachi Ventyx FocalPoint Suite implementation, with build versus buy analysis and formal RFP and vendor selection processes driving architecture decisions.
