| SAP | SAP R/3 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2021 |
In 2019, Lidl Spain migrated from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial, consolidating core financial and master data functions on SAP S/4 HANA. The program explicitly targeted vendor master conversion and retail article migration as central elements of the S/4 HANA deployment within Lidl Spain.
The implementation converted R/3 vendor records to the S/4 Business Partner model using Customer Vendor Integration CVI, reassigning vendor roles and mapping legacy vendor fields into Business Partner roles and account structures. Retail article data was migrated into the S/4 material/article model, with migration workstreams addressing master data mapping, validation rules, and cleanup to align with S/4 HANA master data semantics.
A new REST API was developed to create articles directly in SAP S/4 HANA, and Apigee was used as the API gateway to expose and manage those create-article operations. The API layer provides a controlled entry point for upstream retail systems to provision article master records into SAP S/4 HANA, integrating the ecommerce and merchandising touchpoints with the ERP Financial material master.
Operationally the workstream re-centered vendor lifecycle and article provisioning under S/4 HANA master data governance, impacting procurement, merchandising, and finance processes within Lidl Spain. Governance adjustments focused on centralizing business partner maintenance and standardizing the article creation workflow through the new API-driven interfaces to ensure consistent master data handling in the ERP Financial environment.

| Benify | Legacy | Benify Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Lidl Sweden implemented Benify Benefits as a Benefits Administration solution to centralize employee benefits communication and self-service. The Benify Benefits deployment was positioned to support HR and payroll-related business functions as Lidl expanded its store network and infrastructure in Sweden.
The implementation focused on a Benify employee portal providing e-payslips, employee discounts, and digital pension advice delivered through Benify's sister company Lifeplan. Functional configuration emphasized employee self-service for benefits enrollment, benefits communication and digital pension advisory, aligning with standard Benefits Administration workflows for retailers.
Operational coverage for the rollout encompassed more than 4,200 Lidl Sweden employees, delivering a single access point for payslip delivery and benefits offers. The inclusion of e-payslips and Lifeplan pension advice establishes integration points with payroll data feeds and third-party pension advisory services, and centralizes partner-managed employee discount programs within the portal.
Governance and process objectives were explicitly to digitize benefits processes, increase transparency and accessibility, and create opportunities to expand the benefits catalogue according to statements from Lidl Sweden leadership. Benify was engaged as the technology and service collaborator to support Lidl Sweden's HR ambition to become the industry's best employer, with the Benify Benefits portal serving as the operational platform for that governance and employee communication shift.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, Lidl Spain implemented SAP Concur Travel. SAP Concur Travel was deployed as the core Travel Management application to support corporate travel booking, expense reporting, approval workflows and travel policy enforcement across Lidl Spain operations.
The implementation included configuration of travel booking and expense reporting capabilities, approvals orchestration and policy controls that are typical of Travel Management applications. The project record notes responsibility for SAP Solutions eRecruiting, Escriba Onboarding and Concur Travel Management, with an expert organizing and training teams of four and serving as the contact person for the team lead and 3rd Level support, indicating an operational focus on both functional enablement and user adoption.
Operational support was organized across 1st, 2nd and 3rd Level Support tiers, with transition management to move knowledge and tasks between levels. Support activities were coordinated alongside SAP HCM support for PA, OM, MyPeople, Talent Management and Recruiting on SAP SuccessFactors, reflecting a combined application landscape where travel and HR-related processes were managed in tandem.
Governance and process restructuring centered on a Transition Manager role responsible for organising the knowledge and task transition from 1st, 2nd and 3rd Level Support to optimise support processes. Training of small operational teams and a designated escalation contact point were used to centralize operational ownership and streamline day to day support and escalation for SAP Concur Travel.
