Oracle Legacy Oracle OBIEE Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Liverpool John Moores University provisioned Oracle OBIEE to centralize library reporting and analytics for the university Library, aligning analytics with core service delivery. Oracle OBIEE was adopted as the Analytics and BI platform to collect, collate and analyse statistical management information used by library staff and customer-facing teams. The implementation centered on configuring Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition to deliver scheduled and ad hoc reports and interactive dashboards that reflect resource usage, bookings and enquiry volumes. Configuration work included data modeling and subject areas to surface metrics from the Library’s core systems, plus dashboard development and report automation to support regular management reporting and operational monitoring. Operational integration includes direct consumption of data from the Library’s resource management system ExLibris Alma and other resource booking systems for PC and room bookings, plus ongoing coordination with IT Services and system suppliers for server software and hardware updates. The Library’s digital estate operational footprint was explicitly covered, including support for client hardware such as RFID equipment, self service machines, receipt printers, barcode scanners and catalogue terminals, and content flows into the external facing content management system. Governance and operationalization emphasized day to day system administration, user support, training and documentation for staff, plus account and permissions management for Libraries SharePoint team sites. Technical input from the analytics function supported process improvements within library workflows, while routine liaison with IT Services addressed server and hardware issues and ensured continuity of reporting and access.
