In 2014 Lloyds Register implemented SAP Business ByDesign as an integrated international ERP Financial solution. InCloud Solutions led the deployment, replacing Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and aligning the program with Lloyds Register global operations across 78 countries.
The implementation concentrated on core finance capabilities and extended into project management, project resourcing, and human resources modules to provide modern, mobile and user friendly workflows. SAP Business ByDesign was configured to simplify finance and project processes, automate routine transactions, and centralize resource planning consistent with ERP Financial functional expectations.
Operational configuration emphasized multi language support, multi currency processing and accommodation of varied global legal and financial conventions, enabling the system to operate across Lloyds Register regional entities. The deployment supported a move toward a shared services operating model, with the platform serving as the transactional backbone for finance and project administration across the global network.
Governance and rollout were organized under the Lloyds Register Step up programme with InCloud Solutions providing implementation services and change support. The deployment formed a component of a global HR systems landscape supporting more than 70 locations and colleagues in 182 countries, aligned to HR compensation and performance workflows across the professional services organization.
SAP SuccessFactors Compensation configuration work centered on core compensation models and integration with annual performance and goal cycles, with functional touch points across Employee Central, Performance & Goals, Succession Planning and related SuccessFactors modules. Activities included requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, and ongoing feature assessment for each SuccessFactors release to inform the Product Owner and HR stakeholders on adoption decisions.
The HR systems landscape referenced additional SAP products including SAP Enable Now, SAP Cloud for Customer and SAP Jam as adjacent capabilities for learning, collaboration and HR engagement. The cloud delivered SuccessFactors components were developed in collaboration with a SuccessFactors support partner during design, test and deployment phases, with monitoring of software usage to ensure subscription and licensing adherence.
Governance and operational ownership were organized through a SuccessFactors Product Owner, the Core Products team and the HR Operational Excellence team, with a SuccessFactors Application Analyst role responsible for configuration documentation, solution advice and technical support. Teams were structured to translate complex HR requirements into standard SuccessFactors configuration, and to communicate technical designs to non technical HR audiences.
Objectives emphasized delivering an improved colleague experience for compensation processes and providing sustained technical support for annual performance and compensation cycles, while maintaining configuration documentation and release assessments to keep the Compensation Management capability current and governed.

The implementation explicitly optimized the SuccessFactors toolset alongside external reporting in Microsoft Power BI, and the configuration work emphasized data extraction, manipulation and analysis workflows that underpin headcount, diversity and inclusion, and workforce planning analytics.
Integrations centered on SuccessFactors as the primary HR system of record, with Power BI consuming extracted HR data to feed dashboards and management information. Operational coverage included HR Shared Services Centers, HR Operations, Centers of Excellence and global HR project teams, and the Power BI deployment was used to lead data and insight workstreams for projects such as diversity and inclusion and strategic workforce planning.
Governance and delivery processes were defined to include documented procedures for requirement intake, prioritization and SLAs, ongoing maintenance of reporting artifacts, and training and advisory support to HR SSC teams. The HR Business Intelligence lead role emphasized stakeholder engagement, detailed analysis to identify trends and risks, and ownership of process documentation and programme governance to ensure consistent delivery of Microsoft Power BI based HR analytics.
