In 2020, Malaysia Airports implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The deployment centralized finance and corporate accounting functions across Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, consolidating transaction processing and reporting into a single financial core.
SAP S/4 HANA was deployed on the SAP HANA in memory database as the digital core, providing support for real time analytics and integration with IoT, big data, mobile and business network capabilities associated with the S/4 HANA platform. The implementation consolidated core financial capabilities typical of ERP Financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting and financial close workflows to standardize accounting processes and reporting.
The migration from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 involved data conversion and configuration alignment to the S/4 HANA data model and orchestration of integrations with external operational systems and third party connections supported by the platform. Governance emphasis was placed on centralized master data, standardized close procedures and improved auditability to govern finance operations across the Malaysia Airports enterprise.
