SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2021 2022
In 2021, Maple Leaf Foods executed a one year implementation of SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform. CIO Andreas Liris led the planning and mapping effort that framed the program timeline and readiness activities. The deployment concentrated on SAP S/4 HANA financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close orchestration, master data governance, and enterprise reporting. Configuration priorities included chart of accounts harmonization, transaction mapping and data migration planning, with explicit use of SAP planning and migration tools cited during the engagement. During the initiative the organization selected an implementation partner to support technical delivery while keeping program governance centralized under the CIO. Operational scope emphasized finance and accounting functions with extended involvement from procurement and treasury to align upstream transactional processes to the ERP Financial core. Governance combined technical mapping, data migration sequencing and staged cutover planning, and the rollout emphasized process standardization and rigorous testing to meet the one year delivery window. SAP S/4 HANA was positioned to become the single source of record for financial master data and reporting, with tooling, executive sponsorship and detailed planning highlighted as central to the implementation.
