In 2022, Marubeni Singapore implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform using RISE with SAP cloud delivery. The engagement positioned SAP S/4 HANA as the company’s core finance system for regional operations and to standardize financial processes across related group entities.
The implementation focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, configured around core finance modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax and statutory reporting, and period close orchestration. The deployment used a Fit to Standard approach to constrain customization and accelerate roll out, with configuration workstreams organized by finance function and month end close automation workflows.
Syniti was engaged to execute SAP Advanced Data Migration and data management activities, and Tricentis was used for SAP application testing to validate end to end business process flows. The solution architecture incorporated SAP Business Technology Platform capabilities for analytics and business process intelligence, and RISE with SAP served as the cloud hosting and managed service layer for the SAP S/4 HANA environment.
Governance and rollout were structured as a centralized finance program, with implementation ownership shared between Marubeni Singapore finance and IT stakeholders and external specialist partners. Change control prioritized master data governance, standardized chart of accounts, and cutover sequencing for financial close, with a staged go live approach across transactional finance domains.
