In 2014, Maxeda DIY Group implemented SAP CRM, classified under CRM, to centralize customer interaction and engagement capabilities. Capgemini was responsible for the installation and configuration of the SAP CRM environment.
The deployment architecture integrated SAP CRM with SAP CEI as an add-on on one application server ABAP, establishing a single-application-server ABAP footprint for the CEI extension. Capgemini also completed the installation and configuration of SAP Fiori to provide modern user interface access to the SAP CRM functions.
SAP CRM was provisioned to support core customer relationship workflows common to CRM deployments, including sales force automation, service and case management, customer master management, and interaction logging, which align with typical CRM functional modules. The implementation connected front office processes to the CEI extension on the ABAP server to enable event and interaction integration between components.
Capgemini led technical delivery and configuration governance for the rollout, aligning ABAP server configuration and Fiori UI provisioning with SAP best practices. Maxeda is the first customer in the Netherlands to use SAP CEI in this manner, establishing a local reference point for CEI add-on integration with SAP CRM.
