In 2013, MCAP implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to establish an enterprise Analytics and BI platform supporting mortgage and loan financial reporting. The implementation centered on a Microsoft SQL Server based data warehouse and reporting stack with explicit coverage of mortgage, loan, payment, trial balance, general ledger, investor remittance, disbursements, funding, principal and interest, deferred fees, and borrower statement data flows.
The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) stack was configured to deliver multi-layer capabilities, including SSIS ETL packages that extract and transform loan management system data into a MS SQL data warehouse, SSAS semantic models for analytical cubes, and SSRS report development for operational and financial reports. Development work included T SQL query scripting, stored procedures, functions, views, and application level extensions built in the .Net Framework using C# and VB.net, supplemented by Windows batch and PowerShell for auxiliary tasks.
Integrations were explicit and operational, driven by ETL pipelines into the data warehouse from the Precision Loan Management System provided by SS&C. Reporting and visualization extended beyond SSRS to include SAP BO and Crystal Reports artifacts, QlikView dashboards, and a SharePoint BI portal that provided consolidated access. Automation and scheduled orchestration were implemented using Cisco Workload Automation Tidal scripts to coordinate SQL Server jobs, Windows jobs, IBM iSeries tasks, and the nightly refresh of SharePoint BI reports.
Operational scope emphasized finance and loan servicing functions across MCAP, with business requirement analysis focused on mortgage, loan and bank financial markets activities. Governance and delivery adhered to Agile methodology, with the BI environment developed and managed as a combined database, ETL, reporting, and portal solution. The program included installation and management activities for the loan management system and continuous operational automation to support nightly processing.
