| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Flexcube | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Mediobanca upgraded its Corporate and Investment Banking core by deploying Oracle Flexcube as a Core Banking platform in a Software as a Service model on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The project moved the bank to a public cloud operating model with pay per use billing, and explicitly targeted the full upgrade of the FLEXCUBE implementation to support the Group’s Journey to Cloud strategy.
The implementation leveraged FLEXCUBE’s microservice architecture and a clear separation between the platform kernel and the customization layer, consolidating many prior customizations onto a single platform to simplify maintenance and accelerate update cadence. Configuration and modularization focused on continuous software updates, reduction of bespoke evolution work, and simplification of the bank’s IT portfolio, aligning platform kernel upgrades with a thinner customization layer.
Operationally the Oracle Flexcube deployment covered Corporate and Investment Banking operations and was delivered on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using a SaaS delivery model, creating a single point of accountability for service operation and Service Level Agreement adherence. The public cloud deployment required alignment across multiple counterparts inside the Group and positioned Mediobanca among the first of Italy’s largest banks to run core banking for Corporate Investment Banking on a public cloud platform.
Governance and compliance controls were embedded throughout the rollout, with active involvement of compliance functions and the Data Protection Officer to address GDPR and security requirements, and verification work to ensure service continuity standards. The move simplified the bank’s operating model by consolidating accountability, and the bank signaled further evolution toward hybrid sourcing orchestration as the broader cloud adoption path continues.

| R3 Corda | Legacy | R3 Corda Blockchain Platform | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2020 | 2021 |
In 2020 Mediobanca participated in a consortium deployment of the R3 Corda Blockchain Platform as part of the interbank Spunta Project, an ABI Lab operated initiative connecting 14 Italian banks. The implementation used Corda distributed ledger technology to support interbank reconciliation and automated matching workflows, positioning R3 Corda Blockchain Platform as the core Blockchain Platform for secure transaction processing within the consortium.
The implementation focused on transaction orchestration and automated matching capabilities consistent with Blockchain Platform functionality, with the proof of concept processing approximately 1.2 million transactions over a 10 month trial. R3 positioned Corda to automate the matching process and reduce mismatches, and the project explicitly targeted improved transparency, faster processing times, and greater efficiency in information exchange and verification across participating back office operations.
Application development was delivered by NTT Data Italia and node infrastructure was provisioned via the decentralized storage provider Sia, creating a distributed node architecture across participant banks. ABI Lab operated governance for the Spunta Project, and the operational scope included the 14 ABI member banks, with representation from CheBanca Gruppo Mediobanca among participants, enabling secure peer to peer transaction flows and shared ledger reconciliation across institutional boundaries.
Governance and rollout were managed through ABI Lab with a staged approach from proof of concept to everyday transactional use, and the next phase listed broader production adoption by member banks. The R3 Corda Blockchain Platform implementation also aligns with prior Corda usage in cross border payments initiatives, reinforcing its role as a Blockchain Platform for both interbank reconciliation and international payment orchestration.

| MailUp | Legacy | MailUp | Marketing Automation | CRM | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 Mediobanca deployed MailUp as its Marketing Automation platform on the public website, establishing a cloud hosted email communication layer for digital marketing and client communications. The implementation is focused on web driven subscriber capture and outbound email programs, positioning MailUp to support marketing and digital communications functions across the bank.
MailUp is configured to support core Marketing Automation capabilities such as email campaign management, list segmentation, template creation and scheduling, subscription form handling, and basic send tracking and reporting. The deployment uses embedded MailUp forms and site scripts to capture consented subscribers and to trigger campaign workflows, reflecting a web integrated architecture consistent with SaaS Marketing Automation usage patterns.
Operational control is centered in Mediobanca’s marketing and digital teams, who manage audience segmentation, content workflows and send approvals through the MailUp console. Integration points are limited to the public website for subscriber ingestion and tracking, and the solution serves as the primary tool for newsletter distribution and permission management under the Marketing Automation category.
