SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2013 2013
In 2013, Mercuria Energy Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0, classified as ERP Financial, to consolidate core financial and operational processing across the organization. The deployment was organized under an outsourcing model with central responsibility for global SAP management covering Finance/Controlling and Treasury/Corporate Finance Management. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation encompassed Finance and Controlling modules, Treasury and corporate finance management capabilities, Logistics and Human Capital Management, and a Business Warehouse and Business Objects reporting layer. Additional components included a Business Consolidation System, Process Integration for cross-module orchestration, Basis and infrastructure operations, and an ABAP development stack to support customizations and extensions. Operational coverage was global and focused on finance, treasury, logistics, and HR business functions, with the Business Warehouse and Business Objects serving as the enterprise reporting and analytics backbone. Process Integration functioned to orchestrate data flows between modules and support consolidated financial processes, while Basis and infrastructure teams operated within the outsourcing model to provide system availability and maintenance. Governance concentrated on centralized SAP management for finance and controlling, aligning financial workflows with ECC configuration and ABAP enhancements, and coordinating consolidation and reporting through BW/BO and the consolidation system. Rollout and ongoing operations were managed within the outsourcing engagement, with in-house oversight of finance process design, development priorities, and SAP release and change governance.

SAP Legacy SAP Analytics Cloud Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Mercuria Energy Group implemented SAP Analytics Cloud as a core element of its Analytics and BI stack, aligning the cloud analytics layer with an enterprise data warehouse built on SAP BW/4HANA and native SAP HANA calculation views to support hybrid modeling. The deployment of SAP Analytics Cloud was positioned to operationalize analytics across finance, treasury, tax, HR and cost management functions within the companys reporting landscape. The implementation included design and configuration of SAP BW artifacts, native HANA calculation views and hybrid models to feed visualization layers. Visualization and consumption were delivered through SAP Analytics Cloud and Analysis for Office, with dashboards and information templates built for Treasury loan profiles, cash flows and daily PnL analysis, Indirect Taxes net position and aging, Inspection Costs and IT Costs breakdowns, Finance intercompany reconciliation, and HR headcount plus travel and expenses reporting. Integrations implemented during the program included real-time extraction of trading system data via SDI to support eTRM cross-reporting, and enabled cross-reporting with S/4 FI financial data. The solution landscape also accommodated coexistence and data exchange with Power BI and Tableau tooling where required, while Analysis for Office served as an advanced office-based consumption channel. Training and business user support were part of the rollout to embed self-service and governed reporting practices. Governance encompassed EDW design ownership, technical lead oversight and a small distributed delivery team with nearshore and offshore resources, combined with business training and support processes. The program targeted consolidation of reporting platforms including SSIS and Power BI into the SAP-centric analytics architecture, delivering additional reporting capabilities and improved performance and support.
