Operational scope included forensic analysts and investigators in the criminal investigations unit working on homicide, violent crime, and ICAC caseloads. The deployment introduced governance controls around evidence handling, reviewer assignments, and audit logging to preserve chain of custody and traceability.
As reported by the department, the rollout eliminated a months-long device backlog in days, reduced investigators processing time by approximately 37 percent, and delivered a reported 205 percent ROI for the department. Governance changes centered on centralizing processing and automating routine forensic tasks to accelerate investigative timelines. These outcomes reflect the applied Case Management configuration and the coordinated use of Magnet AXIOM, Magnet AUTOMATE, and Magnet Review.
